What is Compressive Testing

Compressive Testing is a very good way of finding out how a product or material responds when it is subjected to force whether it is compressed, crushed, squeezed or flattened. The material is tested on some fundamental parameters on a compression testing machine.  There are many companies that provide compression testing services to their clients in diverse industries. These companies have machines called Universal Testing Machine that measure the crush resistance of a material. They can also measure the ability of a material to recover after being subjected to a certain level of compressive force.

Compressive testing is important for many industries

There are multiple compressive testing machine uses depending upon the type of machine and the requirement of the company asking for the test. For example, construction industry is very concerned with the compressive strength of the bricks being used to construct a building. They get the bricks tested for their compressive strength by making it undergo brick compressive testing machine. Similarly, there is compression testing machine of concrete that measures the compressive strength of cement. All cement manufacturers as well as builders use this testing to endure sufficient compressive strength for their cement.

Gas cylinders need to have very high compressive strength

Compressive strength of cylinders containing liquid petroleum gas is very important to make sure they do not result in accidents during their transportation and delivery. 2000 kn compression testing machine is pressed into service to test the compressive strength of these cylinders made of iron.

There are many companies making compression testing machines. Out of this Servo controlled compression testing machines are considered by many to be the most reliable and accurate. Companies making products sold all over the country prefer to get them tested for compressive strength with the help of these Servo machines.

Beauty products are also tested for their strength

You may not believe this but many products in beauty and cosmetic industry are also tested for their compressive strength. Imagine applying a lipstick on your lips and you find it breaking down to destroy the makeup on your face. Similarly, deodorants and perfume spray bottles are tested for their compressive strength before being launched for sale. This is done to make sure they do not burst or break to cause any damage to the individual using them.

Last but not the least, compressive testing plays a crucial role in medial world. Needles of injections have to be strong enough before they can be used by human beings.
