How To Install Flexural Compression Testing Machine?

What is Flexural Strength of Concrete?

  • The maximum load on the unit area of concrete beams under bending pressure is called the flexural strength of concrete.
  • Generally, the flexural strength of concrete is about 1/5~1/10 of its cubic compressive strength and 1.5~3.0 times of splitting tensile strength. The flexural strength test was carried out using 150mm * 150mm * 600mm (or 550mm) beams as standard specimens.

Flexural Strength Calculation

  • The flexural strength of cement concrete is a beam of 150mm * 150mm * 550mm specimen, reach the required age in standard curing condition (28 days), in 450mm, the double pivot span loads bending tensile failure.
  • Flexural strength fcf=FL/ (bhh)
    Formula: F– ultimate load (N);
    L– distance between supports, L=450mm;
    Width of b– specimen (mm);
    H– specimen height (mm).
  • The flexural strength can be calculated only if the cross section occurs between the two loading points, otherwise the result of the test piece is invalid.

How To Test Concrete strength?

  1. After the specimen is taken out from the maintenance site, the test shall be carried out in time, and the surface of the test piece and the upper and lower pressure bearing surfaces shall be wiped clean.
  2. Place the test piece on the lower platen or shim plate of the test machine. The bearing surface of the specimen shall be perpendicular to the top surface of the forming. The specimen should be the center and testing machine under the plate center alignment, start the test machine when the plate and specimen or steel plate close, adjust the tee, make contact balance.
  3. In the course of the experiment should be continuous and uniform loading, concrete strength grade “C30, the loading speed per second 0.3~0.5MPa; concrete grade of strength over C30 and C60”, from 0.5~0.8MPa per second; the concrete strength grade of greater than or equal to C60, from 0.8~1.0MPa per second.
  4. When the specimen is close to the beginning of a sharp deformation of the damage, the test machine shall stop adjusting the throttle until it is destroyed, and then record the damage load.
  5. Cube compressive strength test results are calculated and determined according to the following methods:

  • concrete cube compressive strength should be calculated by pressing:
  • Fcc=F/A  Type:
  • FCC: compressive strength of concrete cube specimen (MPa);
  • F: specimen failure load (N);
  • A: the specimen bearing area (m m).
  • Concrete cube compressive strength calculation should be accurate to 0.1MPa.
  • The determination of the strength value shall comply with the following provisions:The arithmetic mean of the three test values is used as the strength value of the group test (0.1MPa).
  • The maximum or minimum value in the three measurements, if there is a difference of between 15% and the middle value, exceeds the maximum and minimum values, and takes the middle value as the compressive strength value of the set of specimens.
  • The maximum or minimum values in the three measurements, such as the difference between the two and the intermediate values, exceed 15% of the mean value, the test data is invalid.
  • (Concrete strength grade) C60, the strength value measured by nonstandard specimen should be multiplied by the dimension conversion factor, the value is 200mm * 200mm * 200mm, the specimen is 1.05; the 100mm * 100mm * 100mm specimen is 0.95.
  • When the concrete strength is more than C60, should adopt the standard specimen; the use of non standard specimen, determine the test size conversion coefficient should be.

Compression Testing Machine Hydraulic Oil Maintain

  1. check whether the oil is clean or not. Generally, oil should be deposited at least once a week from the outlet of the tank, and the quantity depends on the degree of oil pollution until the oil released is free of dirt. Frequent users should remove and clean the oil filter once a month. If dirt blockage is serious or damaged, the oil filter must be replaced.
  2. frequent use, half a year to change the oil once. At the same time, use kerosene to thoroughly clean the oil tank, oil filter, and oil screen. And repeated several times until cleaning, and then wipe the bottom of the box with towel, but then pour clean oil. If it is found that oil turbidity is not serious at ordinary times, it should be replaced immediately.
  3. the use of hydraulic oil recommendations:

 When the room temperature is below 20 degrees, hydraulic oil L-HM46 is used.

 When the room temperature is above 20 degrees, hydraulic oil L-HM68 is used.
